The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation is held for admission to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/MS (Master in Surgery) and PG diploma courses. As per the recent changes in NEET PG 2021 exam pattern, there will be a total of 200 multiple-choice questions. Earlier, there were 300 questions.
Major changes in NEETPG 2021-22:- The important details pertaining to the exam pattern are given in the points below.
Exam Date and Mode – NEET-PG 2021 shall be conducted in a single day & a single session as a computer-based examination earlier April 18 has been postponed The new NEET PG exam date will be announced soon.
Cut-Off Date For Completion Of Internship – 30TH JUNE 2021
Syllabus: The syllabus for the exam shall comprise of subject/ knowledge area as per Graduate Medical Education Regulations
issued by the erstwhile Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Govt of India
Language of Exam – The NEET PG exam will be conducted in English language

Exam pattern – The marks obtained and the total number of questions has been reduced this time (200 MCQ). The total marks obtained also reduced from a total of 1200 to 800.
Exam timings – The timing for NEET PG 2021 has been changed, as per the official notification. This time the NEET PG 2021 exam will be held from 2 pm to 5:30 pm – 210 minutes (3.30 hours). Previously, it was conducted from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. Finger Biometrics of candidates shall be captured at the time of registration for the test at the test venue. In addition, photographs of the candidates shall be captured on the exam day at the centre. Face ID shall be verified at the time of registration for the test and at each bio-break & during the conduct of examination

Questions for review– During the examination, candidates are given an option to mark any question, whether attempted or not, for review which means that candidate has been given an option to go through these questions again before the examination time ends. Candidates may note that such questions which are marked for review shall be evaluated as per the marking scheme
Tie-breaking parameters – As per the NBA, if two or more candidates obtaining the same score in the NEET PG 2021 exam, the merit position of candidates will be decided by four tie-breaking criteria factors. Earlier, these candidates were judged on the basis of eight such factors which have been reduced to four. This will be based on the number of more correct responses, a number of less negative responses, older candidate, and higher aggregate marks (in percentage).
