NEET Super Speciality 2021: Implementation of new question pattern put off; Old pattern to be conducted!

NEET SS 2021 new question pattern is dropped, The Central Government, National Board of Examination and National Medical Commission informed the Supreme Court that the decision of implementing the new question pattern was put off and it will be implemented from the next Academic Session i.e., 2022-23.

The Solicitor General Ms. Aishwarya Bhati said “In deference of your lordship’s observations & interest of students, the Centre has decided that the revised scheme will be implemented from 2022. The present exam will be held based on the 2020 scheme.”

Previously, the NBE and NMC sued an affidavit and proposed, it has decided to postpone the NEET SS 2021 from Nov 2021 to Jan 2022. It said that the change of old exam pattern was done to bring more effectiveness and flexibility for the students. So that, it would be helpful to fill the maximum number of seats available and students would get ample time for preparation.

Considering the last minute changes in the syllabus after notification of the exam, 41 qualified PG doctors approached Supreme Court stating the change will have a hugely adverse effect on the students.

The Bench told counsels, “Just because you have power, you are wielding power like this. Please speak to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to look at this. Don’t treat these young doctors as football in this game of power.” Young doctors cannot be at the mercy of the “insensitive bureaucrats” and “cannot be treated like a football”,

Now, Ms. Bhati said that the decision to drop the implementation of new exam pattern and go for the old pattern was done after consulting the NBE, NMC & Central Government and importantly taking into consideration of the student’s interest.
