The Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (PIMS), Pondicherry is run by a Trust and was established in the Year 2000. The PIMS is a unit of The Madras Medical Mission, a charitable society and hospital in Chennai promoted by the members of the Malankara Orthodox Christian community. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with Pondicherry University.
